Softball Recap: Mariemont Takes a Loss

After flying high against Northwest on Thursday, Mariemont came back down to earth. The Warriors came up short against the Blanchester Wildcats on Tuesday, falling 19-9.

Mariemont got a big performance out of Evie Metz, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those RBI marked the first that Metz has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Peyton Quiambo, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Mariemont's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Blanchester, they pushed their record up to 9-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mariemont will venture away from home to take on Deer Park at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Blanchester, they will head out to face off against Clermont Northeastern at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rockets have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
