Basketball Game Preview: Lee's Summit West Titans vs. Rockhurst Hawklets

The Lee's Summit West Titans will square off against the Rockhurst Hawklets at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Lee's Summit West didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Liberty North, but they still walked away with a 62-58 victory.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Rockhurst had no trouble coming through when it counted. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Chrisman 76-34. The Hawklets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Lee's Summit West better focus on containing Callen Eskew and Carson Green as the pair were huge in Rockhurst's win. Eskew posted 16 points and five boards, while Green earned 13 points. Eskew's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Maxwell Moylan was another key player, putting up eight points.

Rockhurst's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.3 points. As for Lee's Summit West, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-15.

Lee's Summit West suffered a grim 68-43 defeat to Rockhurst in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Lee's Summit West avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
