Baseball Preview: Prestonsburg Blackcats vs. Boyd County Lions        
        
		
            
 The Prestonsburg Blackcats will head out on the road to  take on  the Boyd County Lions at 6:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Both teams come into the  matchup bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 On Tuesday, Prestonsburg needed a bit of extra time to put away Breathitt County. They skirted past the Bobcats  7-6. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for Prestonsburg.
  Brayden Tussey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Tussey was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Tussey wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Luke Hall, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 3-for-4.  Brett Davis was another key contributor,  going 2-for-4 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Boyd County waltzed into their contest  on Monday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They blew past the Vikings 11-1. Considering Boyd County has won 13 matches by more than six  runs this season, Monday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Prestonsburg's win  ended  a  nine-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 12-17. As for Boyd County, their victory was  their sixth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 24-2.
 Prestonsburg suffered a grim  12-0 defeat to Boyd County  in their previous matchup  back in March of 2023. Can Prestonsburg avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
