Woodlawn entered their tilt with Poyen on Friday with 13 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 14. They didn't even let the Indians on the board, marking their second-straight 5-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bears also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Lillie McWhorter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one hit any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Macy Harrison, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lilly Joe Bradley, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.

Woodlawn pushed their record up to 23-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Poyen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-10.
