Millard West has gone a perfect 8-0 against Grand Island recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Wildcats will square off against the Islanders. Millard West will be strutting in after a victory while Grand Island will be coming in after a loss.

Millard West had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Burke on Tuesday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on three straight.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Millard West was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-14, 25-7.

Meanwhile, Grand Island came up short against Columbus on Saturday and fell 2-0.

While Grand Island was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-22.

Millard West's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Grand Island, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 15 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.

Everything went Millard West's way against Grand Island in their previous matchup back in October of 2020, as Millard West made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
