Baseball Recap: Astoria's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Astoria ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against the Seaside Seagulls by a score of 6-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Fishermen as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Dallas Norris tossed a big game, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jack Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Joey Gramlich, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Astoria's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Seaside, their record now sits at 6-12.
