Softball Recap: Oak Hill Finds Home Field Redemption Against Sacopee Valley

There's no place like home for Oak Hill, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on the Sacopee Valley Hawks with a sharp 12-5 win on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Raiders needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Izzy Whitaker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Oak Hill let Saryn Blais and Carlee Austin run wild. Blais went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI, while Austin went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two runs gave Blais a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sydney Wood, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Oak Hill's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Sacopee Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-13.

Oak Hill has already played their next contest, a 17-2 win against Mount Abram on the 4th. Sacopee Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
