Volleyball Game Preview: James Logan Colts vs. Newark Memorial Cougars

James Logan is 9-1 against Newark Memorial since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Colts are taking a road trip to take on the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. James Logan will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

James Logan won the last time they faced Washington and Emma Tran did her part to make sure it happened again. The Colts were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Huskies on Thursday for which the team can thank Tran, who had 14 digs and two assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

James Logan never let Washington on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-19, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Newark Memorial came up short against American on Thursday, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-19, 25-9.

Newark Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for James Logan, their win bumped their record up to 16-6.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: James Logan has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Newark Memorial struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Everything went James Logan's way against Newark Memorial in their previous matchup back in September, as James Logan made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colts since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
