Daphne had won four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 2-0 to make it five. Everything went their way against the Pine Forest Eagles as they made off with a 32-12 win. That's more bragging rights for the Trojans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Daphne's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Segar, who threw for 144 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 72.2% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Izick Johnson helped Segar out on the ground, picking up 62 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 66 yards.

As for Pine Forest, their record now sits at 1-1. They gained 174 more yards on the day, but it was Daphne that made the best use of them.

Despite the loss, Pine Forest still got an impressive performance from Jacorie Thomas, who rushed for 61 yards and one TD, and also threw for 231 yards on 20 of 36 attempts.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Daphne will host Mary G. Montgomery at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Trojans' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Pine Forest, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Niceville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
