Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Musselman). Everything went their way against the GVCS Broadfording Lions on Wednesday as they made off with an 18-8 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Applemen needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Wyatt McClintock was a standout: he got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Musselman is 4-1 when McClintock posts two or more runs, but 4-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ethan Hinchman, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Musselman's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-12. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for GVCS Broadfording, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Musselman beat the Lions by a score of 12-6 later that day.
