Basketball Recap: Middletown Christian Eagles vs. Legacy Christian Academy Knights

After a string of three wins, the Middletown Christian Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were dealt a 63-34 defeat at the hands of Legacy Christian Academy. Middletown Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-15.

Legacy Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Claire Solomon, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 assists. Ava Combs was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with three steals.

Middletown Christian's defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-6. As for Legacy Christian Academy, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2.

Middletown Christian will head out on the road to square off against the Bulldogs at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Woodward has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 200 points over their last three matchups. As for Legacy Christian Academy, they will play host again and welcome the Blazers, where tip off is scheduled for 0:30 a.m. on Saturday. National Trail will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 683rd, while the Knights are ranked 181st).
