            Softball Recap: Brentwood Bruins vs. Christ Presbyterian Academy Lions        
        
		
        
        
            Brentwood won the last time they faced Christ Presbyterian Academy and things went their way  on Wednesday too. The Bruins had just enough and edged out the Lions  8-7. The  victory was familiar territory for the Bruins, who have now won four  contests in a row.

 Marina Mason was a  major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 16 batters over  seven innings while giving up  five earned  (and two unearned) runs off   12  hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  tossed less than nine  strikeouts in 18 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-4 with two  RBI and one  run.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Bella Black, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. That  home run was  her first of the season. Another player making a difference was  Lila Driver, who  went 3-for-4 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Brentwood  lost a few balls and  finished the game with two  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've posted since back in March.
Brentwood pushed their record up to 15-4 with the  win, which was their third straight  at home. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Christ Presbyterian Academy, their loss  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 13-6.
