Preview: Ruidoso Warriors vs. Dexter Demons
The Ruidoso Warriors will be playing at home against the Dexter Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, it was close, but Ruidoso sidestepped New Mexico Military Institute for a 47-45 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Ruidoso.
Logan Sandoval was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Sandoval is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Augustine Saiz, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Tucumcari scored an imposing 66 points on Friday, Dexter still came out on top. Dexter slipped by Tucumcari 67-66.
Ruidoso's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-10. As for Dexter, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.
Everything came up roses for Ruidoso against Dexter in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 67-28 victory. Does Ruidoso have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dexter turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
