Basketball Recap: Hough Comes Up Short

After flying high against West Mecklenburg last Friday, Hough came back down to earth. The Hough Huskies fell 65-53 to the West Charlotte Lions on Tuesday. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

West Charlotte found their leader in sophomore Amen(AC) Pressley, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 21 points. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for Pressley. The team also got some help courtesy of Cha Cho Womack, who posted 16 points.

Hough dropped their record down to 7-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for West Charlotte, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Hough didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 47-45 loss against Mallard Creek on the 9th. As for West Charlotte, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 75-57 win against Harding University on the 8th.
