Basketball Game Preview: Bishop Walsh Spartans vs. Paw Paw Pirates

The Bishop Walsh Spartans will venture away from home to take on the Paw Paw Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Bishop Walsh beat Lighthouse Christian Academy 43-30.

Meanwhile, Paw Paw made easy work of Hancock on Saturday and carried off a 74-52 win. With the Pirates ahead 35-15 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Bishop Walsh better keep an eye on Donavan Tanouye. He was instrumental in Paw Paw's win, dropping a double-double with 34 points and 17 rebounds. The contest was Tanouye's 14th in a row with at least 16 points. Taylor Carder was another key player, dropping a double-double with 19 points and 13 boards.

Bishop Walsh's victory bumped their record up to 6-18. As for Paw Paw, their win bumped their record up to 7-14.

Things could have been worse for Bishop Walsh, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-48 loss to Paw Paw in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Tanouye, who dropped a triple-double with 29 points, 12 rebounds, and ten steals.
