Mitchell hasn't had much luck against The Classical Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Mitchell will face off against The Classical Academy at 1:00 p.m. Mitchell has given up an average of 13.1 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Mitchell came up short against Salida on Tuesday, falling 14-4.

Mitchell saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyreece Roberts, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. Those two hits gave Roberts a new career-high.
Meanwhile, The Classical Academy put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over Manitou Springs. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won four matches by nine runs or more so far this season.
David St Marie was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). St Marie was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.
In other pitching news, Jackson Finn looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
Back at the plate, Zack Hale and Carter Patrick did most of the damage at the plate: Hale went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two doubles, while Patrick scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Hale is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as he's now launched at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Mediavilla, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.
The Classical Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Manitou Springs only posted a batting average of .077.
Mitchell's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for The Classical Academy, their record now sits at 5-0.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mitchell has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like The Classical Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Mitchell suffered a grim 24-1 defeat to The Classical Academy in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can Mitchell avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
