California high school football: Statewide top 25 scoreboard

No. 19 Serra will battle No. 15 Los Alamitos in game of the week.

This week's high school football schedule in California is headlined by No. 19 Serra (Gardena) taking on No. 15 Los Alamitos on Friday.

Los Alamitos (4-1) is coming off wins over St. Paul (Santa Fe Springs) and Clovis North (Fresno). The Griffins are led by their defense, which has allowed just 12.2 points per game this season.

Serra has a 2-2 record with the losses coming against Orange Lutheran (Orange) and Oaks Christian (Westlake Village) in one-possession games. Senior quarterback Jimmy Butler has 832 passing yards and four touchdowns while rushing for 173 yards and three scores.

No. 2 Mission Viejo will host No. 22 Chaparral (Temecula) in a matchup of undefeated squads. Chaparral has outscored its opponents 98-2 over the past two games with senior Shane Klingelberg and sophomore Kameron Payne leading the way.

Mission Viejo is ranked No. 10 nationally after a 31-28 win over Basha, the No. 2 ranked team in Arizona. Four-star wide receivers Phillip Bell III and Vance Spafford have hauled in nine touchdowns this season.



No. 10 Servite (Anaheim) will host St. Paul. Servite is undefeated and has shutouts in two of its four games. The defense is paced by senior Tomas Cernius and junior Elijah Rincon, who lead the Friars in sacks.

St. Paul is 2-2 with consecutive losses to Damien (La Verne) and Los Alamitos. Junior quarterback Gabriel Castaneda has 642 yards and four passing touchdowns this season for the Swordsmen.

In Northern California, No. 7 De La Salle (Concord) will travel to El Cerrito in a matchup of undefeated teams. The Spartans are coming off a 38-35 win over St. Mary's (Stockton) last week and are led by Idaho commit Toa Faavae at quarterback. De La Salle defeated Grant (Sacramento), Junipero Serra (San Mateo) and Saint Francis (Mountain View) to start the season.

El Cerrito (3-0) is coming off a shutout victory over Campolindo (Moraga) last week. Junior Lavern Malikii led the way with 217 rushing yards and three touchdowns in the 49-0 win.

Grant (Sacramento) will welcome four-star quarterback Akili Smith Jr. and No. 17 Lincoln (San Diego) to Northern California on Friday. Both teams have two losses to good teams outside of its area.

Grant (3-2) is led on offense by senior quarterback Luke Alexander, who has 1,115 passing yards and 13 touchdowns. His top targets are sophomores Koby Shabazz and Zo Edwards, who have combined to catch eight touchdowns. On defense San Diego State senior commit Jeremiah Tuiileila leads the team with 3.5 sacks after recording 23 as a junior.



Smith Jr. leads the way for Lincoln (2-2) with 967 passing yards and six touchdowns. The Oregon commit has more than 5,000 career passing yards along with 60 touchdowns. Senior three-star running back Aden Jackson paces the Hornets with 475 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. Jackson continues a great running back legacy at Lincoln that includes NFL Hall of Famers Marcus Allen and Terrell Davis, along with current Georgia tailback Roderick Robinson.
