Softball Recap: Wabash Comes Up Short

Wabash came into this matchup off a tough 11-run defeat on Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Bluffton Tigers by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. The Apaches were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Wabash saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaitlynn Honeycutt, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Wabash dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Bluffton, their record now sits at 4-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wabash will take on Northfield at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Apaches are facing the Norsemen at the right time seeing as the Norsemen are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Bluffton, they will face off against South Adams at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Starfires will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
