Softball Recap: Dickinson Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Dickinson can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Clear Falls Knights. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-4 back in March.

Bailey Barber made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Barber was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Barber wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ilianna Rodriguez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave Rodriguez a new career-high.

Dickinson's record is now 8-21. As for Clear Falls, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.

Dickinson and Clear Falls could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Gators will take on Deer Park at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (337 vs. 37). Meanwhile, Clear Falls (ranked 383rd) will meet Clear Lake (ranked 57th) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
