Basketball Game Preview: Broken Bow Indians vs. Gothenburg Swedes

Broken Bow and Gothenburg are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Broken Bow Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gothenburg Swedes at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Broken Bow is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.7 points per game this season.

Broken Bow took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They took down Wood River 67-52.

Broken Bow can attribute much of their success to Zachary Jackson, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds, and Dominic Nowak, who went 9 for 20 en route to 25 points. The dominant performance gave Nowak a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braxtton Johnson, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 13 points along with six boards and five blocks.

Meanwhile, Gothenburg was able to grind out a solid victory over Chase County on Friday, taking the game 51-44.

Gothenburg pushed their record up to 7-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Broken Bow, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.
