Volleyball Recap: West Jessamine Takes a Loss

If West Jessamine was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of East Jessamine last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The West Jessamine Colts came up short against the Henry Clay Blue Devils on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Colts in their meetings with the Blue Devils: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the defeat, West Jessamine saw an underclassman step up: freshman Cohen Freese had 15 digs. The dominant performance gave Freese a new career-high in digs.

West Jessamine's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Henry Clay, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

West Jessamine didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Paul Laurence Dunbar on the 20th. As for Henry Clay, they will welcome St. Xavier at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
