The Marie Philip Galloping Ghosts put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 39-10 victory over Varsity Opponent at home. The team accrued 29 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.
Marie Philip found their leader in underclassman Stella Ciulla, who scored 12 points along with 5 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Ciulla has scored at least 25% of Marie Philip's points. Another player making a difference was Kimberlie Ange, who scored 4 points along with 4 steals.
Marie Philip's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Varsity Opponent, their loss dropped their record down to 24-109.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marie Philip will take on Boston University Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Varsity Opponent, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Northland Christian.
