Basketball Recap: Eastern Montgomery Comes Up Short

Eastern Montgomery was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 47-34 to the Radford Bobcats. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-47 back in December of 2024.

Kearson Carter was her usual excellent self, putting up 22 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals for Radford. That makes it four consecutive games in which Carter has scored at least a third of Radford's points. Riley Akers also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Eastern Montgomery's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Radford, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.

Eastern Montgomery has already played their next contest (against Highland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Radford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 60-25 win against Glenvar on the 14th.
