Basketball Recap: Garfield Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Garfield won the last time they faced South Gate and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Garfield Bulldogs came out on top against the South Gate Rams by a score of 49-39. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 476th, while the Rams are ranked 1204th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Garfield is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for South Gate, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-12.

Garfield has already played their next contest (against Legacy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. South Gate will welcome Bell at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
