Softball Recap: Kaufman Comes Up Short

Kaufman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 15-4 to the Red Oak Hawks.

Bella Phiffer was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in home runs.

Phiffer wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Kaufman lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Kaufman's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7-2. As for Red Oak, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4-1 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Kaufman Lions take on Corsicana Tigers at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Red Oak, they will take on Midlothian at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Midlothian will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Red Oak surely won't give up without a fight.
