Softball Recap: Whiting Victorious

Whiting won the last time they faced Hammond Central and things went their way on Thursday too. The Oilers walked away with a 23-20 victory over the Wolves. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Oilers.

Lily Morando was a standout: she went 4-for-6 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Arianna Vianello was another key player, going 3-for-6 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base.

Whiting's record is now 2-0. As for Hammond Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Coincidentally, Whiting and Hammond Central will both be playing Lake Station Edison the next time they take the field. The Wolves will head out to face the Fighting Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Oilers will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
