Recap: Waterford Lancers vs. Windham Whippets

The Waterford Lancers had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 67-61 win over Windham on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Windham lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Anthony Green, who scored 26 points. Green is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Tahj Jones was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven assists and two steals.

Waterford's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-9. As for Windham, they dropped their record down to 7-10 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waterford will take on Stonington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Stonington's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 13 matches. As for Windham, they will head out on the road to square off against Killingly at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Windham focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Friday.
