Rochester gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They claimed a resounding 42-0 victory over the Wabash Apaches at home. Given the Zebras' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Apaches are ranked 269th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brant Beck was a one-man wrecking crew for Rochester as he rushed for 68 yards and two touchdowns. Beck got the majority of those yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible58 yards. Zakkary Parks got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Rochester was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 269 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 229 rushing yards in 11 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Rochester's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Parks and Clarence Garrett. Garrett's also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making five total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Rochester is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Tippecanoe Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wabash, they will venture away from home to square off against Alexandria-Monroe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
