Volleyball Recap: Southampton Beats Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech for Their Fourth Straight Win

Southampton had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech Dragons with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in September.

Southampton never let Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-6, 25-22.

Leading Southampton to victory were Paisley Benson and Michaela Kizer. Benson had 11 aces, while Kizer had three digs and two aces. Those 11 aces gave Benson a new career-high.

Southampton's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-5 record this season.

Southampton will head out to challenge Lunenburg Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brunswick at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
