Soccer Game Preview: Catalina vs. Tanque Verde

The Catalina Trojans will square off against the Tanque Verde Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Catalina's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 5-0 margin over Safford. The contest marked the Trojans' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Tanque Verde duked it out withEmpire on Tuesday. Tanque Verde came out on top in a nail-biter against Empire, sneaking past 2-1. The win was all the more spectacular given the Hawks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Ravens are ranked 20th).

Tanque Verde now has a winning record of 4-3-1. As for Catalina, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
