Basketball Game Preview: Erie Tigers vs. Frederick Golden Eagles

The Erie Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the Frederick Golden Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Erie was able to grind out a solid win over Legacy, taking the game 48-39. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Erie can attribute much of their success to Juliet Slater, who posted 17 points. The game was Slater's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tegan Cerveny, who had eight points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Frederick). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Silver Creek 73-42. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-15.

Frederick has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Erie, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.

Erie was able to grind out a solid win over Frederick in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 49-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Erie since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
