Football Game Preview: Massena Raiders vs. Canton Golden Bears + How To Watch

The Massena Raiders will venture away from home to face off against the Canton Golden Bears at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Canton took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Massena, who comes in off a win.

Massena took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 51-15 win over Franklin Academy. Considering the Raiders' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Mason Deshane had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 246 yards and four TDs while picking up 10.7 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 112 rushing yards per game.

Deshane was just one part of a punishing run game: Massena was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 341 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Canton ended up a good deal behind Potsdam on Saturday and lost 22-6. The Golden Bears haven't had much luck with the Sandstoners recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Massena now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Canton, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Massena came out on top in a nail-biter against Canton in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, sneaking past 20-18. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
