After a string of four wins, Chesnee's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the Union County Yellowjackets by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Chesnee's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Union County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Chesnee and Union County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings. The Eagles (ranked 68th) will meet Liberty (ranked 206th) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Union County will square off against Woodruff at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (17 vs. 62).
