Football Game Preview: New Canaan Rams vs. Weaver Beavers + How To Watch

New Canaan has won 13 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Weaver has won 13 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Rams will welcome the Beavers at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

New Canaan is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They blew past Darien 42-7.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Weaver over ATI [Abbott RVT/Immaculate] in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Beavers blew ATI [Abbott RVT/Immaculate] out of the water with a 63-28 final score. The Beavers pushed the score to 43-21 by the end of the third, a deficit ATI [Abbott RVT/Immaculate] had little chance of recovering from.

Weaver's win came from a few key players New Canaan will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kadain Claflin-Coy, who threw for 325 yards and six touchdowns on only 19 passes, and also rushed for 70 yards on only six carries. Those six passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Weaver's leading receiver Jyiere Perry was Claflin-Coy's top target yet again, picking up 175 receiving yards and four TDs.

Weaver was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 240 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 150 rushing yards in four consecutive games.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Weaver's defense and their four sacks. In that department, Aden Brown was the leader with two. Johnathan Mitchell got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Weaver's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for New Canaan, their victory bumped their record up to 11-0.
