Baseball Game Preview: Ansonia Tigers vs. Covington Buccs

Ansonia hasn't had much luck against Covington recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Tigers will head out to challenge the Buccs at 1:00 p.m. Ansonia has given up an average of 7.6 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Ansonia faced off against Tri-County North on Thursday. The Tigers came up short against the Panthers, falling 11-2. The Tigers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Asher Shives made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.

Newton Local typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Covington proved too difficult a challenge. They skirted past the Indians 7-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Buccs.

Ansonia's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Covington, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
