Basketball Recap: Newton Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Newton hadn't done well against Eisenhower recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Newton Railroaders walked away with a 48-41 victory over the Eisenhower Tigers. That's more bragging rights for the Railroaders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Eisenhower lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Pierce Blue, who posted 12 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cohen Ho, who put up 11 points.

Newton's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4. As for Eisenhower, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newton will square off against Goddard at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Eisenhower, they will challenge Salina Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
