Basketball Game Preview: Burbank Titans vs. West Campus Warriors

The Burbank Titans will head out on the road to challenge the West Campus Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

West Campus will be up against a hot Burbank squad: the team just extended their winning streak to nine. Burbank claimed a resounding 80-30 victory over Valley. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while the Vikings are ranked 1329th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Burbank got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Johnnie Williams out in front who went 5 of 10 en route to 12 points and six boards. The dominant performance gave Williams a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of DJ Massey, who posted eight points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Burbank smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Campus). They blew past Armijo 92-52 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Burbank pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 40.4 points. As for West Campus, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Everything went Burbank's way against West Campus when the teams last played back in June of 2021, as Burbank made off with an 81-55 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was West Campus' Leo Wagner, who went 10 for 19 on his way to 28 points along with eight rebounds and six blocks.
