Basketball Recap: Patrick School Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Patrick School had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They managed a 73-69 win over the Phoenix Montessori Academy Firebirds on Saturday.

Phoenix Montessori Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caiden Jenkins, who shot 47% from the field on his way to 19 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Malik McCotter, who went 8-for-12 en route to 22 points.

Phoenix Montessori Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Patrick School will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hudson Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on December 8. As for Phoenix Montessori Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 109-85 win against Cresset Christian Academy on the 10th.
