Basketball Recap: Poolesville Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

Poolesville won the last time they faced Magruder and things went their way on Friday too. The Poolesville Falcons enjoyed a cozy 60-43 victory over the Magruder Colonels.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Poolesville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alexavier Saunders, who went 6-for-12 on his way to 19 points and five steals. Saunders' morning made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmanuel Chukuwurah, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 10 points and four steals.

Poolesville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points over those games. As for Magruder, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-9.

Looking ahead, Poolesville will square off against Rockville on Tuesday. As for Magruder, they will welcome Damascus at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
