Volleyball Recap: Gautier Victorious

Gautier proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Clinton Arrows 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Gators have posted since August 23rd.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (103-94) Gautier actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-21, 11-25, 25-20, 15-12.

Gautier can attribute much of their success to Illeiram Arce, who had seven digs and one assist.

Gautier was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in August of 2024.

Gautier's victory bumped their record up to 11-15. As for Clinton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-17.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Gautier will face off against West Jones at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clinton, they will take on St. Andrew's Episcopal at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
