Wasilla faced Palmer in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Warriors walked away with a 2-0 win over the Moose. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.
Mia Caldwell paced Wasilla's offense, picking up eight kills. Caldwell got some help from Brystal Shelton and her 13 assists. Marissa Monroe controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.
Wasilla's victory bumped their record up to 12-8-2. As for Palmer, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-15-2.
Wasilla wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Bettye Davis East Anchorage on the 27th. As for Palmer, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Pole at 6:30 p.m. on the 9th. The Moose are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
