Baseball Recap: PikeView Gets the Win

It was a proper cat-fight when PikeView duked it out with Summers County on Wednesday. The PikeView Panthers came out on top against the Summers County Bobcats by a score of 5-2. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Braden Huggins, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Naylor, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

The victory got PikeView back to even at 1-1. As for Summers County, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-2.

Coincidentally, PikeView and Summers County will both be playing James Monroe the next time they take the field. PikeView will head out to face James Monroe at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while Summers County will host them at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
