After a string of 12 wins, Northside's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Sumiton Christian Eagles by a score of 6-5. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 9-3.

Avery Sharbutt was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Northside's defeat dropped their record down to 27-12-1. As for Sumiton Christian, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 19-14 record.

Northside didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-4 loss against American Christian Academy on the 12th. As for Sumiton Christian, they will square off against Oak Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
