Soccer Recap: Lincoln Comes Up Short

If Lincoln was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Athens/Greenview/Illini Central on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Railsplitters took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lincolnwood/Morrisonville/Nokomis Lancers on Wednesday.

Lincoln's goal came courtesy of Luca Massena, which was the first he's scored this season.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Lincolnwood/Morrisonville/Nokomis, their win bumped their record up to 4-2-1.

Lincoln didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Mt. Zion on the 6th. As for Lincolnwood/Morrisonville/Nokomis, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Beardstown at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
