Rocky Mountain Lutheran took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against Gilpin County by a score of 37-30. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Rocky Mountain Lutheran also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2024.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Benjamin Bushey, who posted two points in addition to ten rebounds, four steals, and three blocks. Bushey is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Landon Church was another key player, putting up five points and six rebounds.
Coming up, Rocky Mountain Lutheran will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Dawson School at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gilpin County, they will face off against Moffat on Friday.
