Baseball Recap: Centennial's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Centennial gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Stockdale Mustangs. This was a revenge game for the Golden Hawks: when they faced off against the Mustangs on Monday, they had to take a 5-4 loss.

Ross Rocha spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alex Hughes, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

The victory snapped Centennial's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-12-1 record. As for Stockdale, they moved to 18-6-1 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Centennial will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
