Baseball Recap: Junction City Wins Going Away Against Gurdon

Junction City barely beat Gurdon the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Dragons blew past the Go-Devils 6-0 on Saturday. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Go-Devils recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Jaxon Temple made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Junction City is 5-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-9 otherwise. Temple was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Reid Cates was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Justin Johnson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Junction City hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The victory got Junction City back to even at 11-11. As for Gurdon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

As of now, neither Junction City nor the Go-Devils have any future games scheduled.
