Softball Game Preview: Whitko Wildcats vs. Heritage Patriots

The Whitko Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Heritage Patriots at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Whitko is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.

On Wednesday, Whitko came up short against Wabash and fell 10-6.

Meredith Hindbaugh made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Heritage's offense. They fell 5-0 to Jay County on Thursday. Heritage has struggled against Jay County recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Adalina Bacon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.

Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Whitko, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Whitko came out on top in a nail-biter against Heritage when the teams last played back in May of 2025, sneaking past 7-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
