Volleyball Preview: Colfax Takes on Assumption in Tournament Play

The Colfax Vikings will be taking part in a tournament against the Assumption Royals at 9:50 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, Colfax came up short against Clear Lake and fell 2-0.

Meanwhile, Assumption didn't have quite enough to beat Port Edwards on Tuesday and fell 3-2. While the Royals didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Blackhawks 25-12 in the first set.

Assumption took Port Edwards into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 12-25, 25-13, 18-25, 25-16, 15-12.

Colfax will need to focus on slowing down Rylan Cusack, one of several Assumption players who made an impact when they last played. She had 25 kills, 13 digs, and six aces. Kiley Carroll was another key player, getting 24 assists, 14 digs, and three aces.
