Baseball Recap: Renville County West Takes a Loss

Renville County West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 13-3 to the Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Thunderbirds. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 7-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Renville County West saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Griffin Howard, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3.

Renville County West's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Renville County West has already played their next matchup (against Kenmare/Bowbells/Burke Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop, they are taking a road trip to challenge Springfield at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The contest will give the Thunderbirds their first taste of in-conference action this season.
